Gas Fireplace

A gas fireplace is a type of fireplace that uses gas fuel instead of wood. Gas fireplaces are more efficient than wood-burning fireplaces, and they produce less pollution. There are two types of gas fireplaces: vented and unvented. Vented fireplaces are more efficient, because they release the fumes outside of the home. Unvented fireplaces release the fumes into the home, so they are not as efficient. Gas fireplaces can be either direct vent or natural vent. Direct vent fireplaces have a pipe that goes from the fireplace to the outside of the home, so the fumes are released outside. Natural vent fireplaces do not have a pipe, so the fumes are released into the home. Gas fireplaces can be either propane or natural gas. Propane is a type of gas that is made from petroleum, and it is stored in tanks. Natural gas is a type of gas that is found in underground reservoirs, and it is piped into homes. Gas fireplaces are more expensive to install than wood-burning fireplaces, but they are less expensive to operate.
